Equality Coaching
Fairness in relationships between horses and people. Our ridden horse training workshop in Melbourne emphasises partnership and fairness, ensuring a nurturing environment for both rider and horse.

The Natural Transition: From the ground up and into the saddle
When your horse trusts you on the ground, sees you as their leader and wants to be with you, you will notice that your horse’s mind is more connected with you when you are mounted. Your horse will look to you for safety and leadership, similarly as they would with their other equine friends. Horses are always calmer when they feel safe, just as we are always calmer, when we feel safe.
There are also some additional factors that come into play when we ride for example: Your riding position, overall balance, rhythm and fluidness, along with your own personal confidence levels that come into play. This can be due to any negative perceptions or previous experiences, general fears, doubts, beliefs and even your own expectations of yourself, known or unknown.
“Get the fundamentals down, and the level of everything you do will rise”
The same foundation principles and practices from Workshop 1 apply when you ride, however there is a small transition period before the same level of communication from within the saddle takes effect. Meaning how well you have prepared with your horse on the ground and/or the previous hours you have spent in the saddle. This all adds to the equation and must be taken into consideration.
Together we’ll assess your starting point, and you will be guided through a variety of ridden exercises and activities tailored to suit each individual’s confidence levels for both you and your horse. The inner dynamics of horse and rider are also explored, not
just the physical aspects of training.
